Dear Seedlings,

Dear Seedlings,

Ladies and gentlemen,

summer is here wooohoo!!! ☀️☀️☀️

The past week 2 weeks it’s been pretty gosh darn hot out. Sticky, humid, and every third night we’ve had some rain so it’s been the perfect balance Finally LOL . The only bad thing with that is it has drawn out the mosquitoes..🤬..

I had wanted to try something new this year; in regards to selling the seeds from my hot peppers, but I didn’t get to cover the flowers in time so there was too much of a chance for cross pollination. So, I’m not gonna risk it but at least I’ll be ready for next year 🙂 . I know that you have to cover the flowers so that they can’t cross pollinate but I wonder if there’s some thing that would actually cover the whole entire plant during flower time like a nylon teabag plant size hmmm ?..

A close friend of mine recently did a trip and had brought me back some oregano, holy moly I love it😂 if I was able to do a whole lawn in that I would it just smells so amazing yummy

With an update on the growth of everything , The tomatoes are ranging from about 1 to 2 feet and full of flowers,  the carrots are coming in thick, just like the cucumbers and beans, The hot peppers from ghost to reaper to scorpion are a little bit smaller than I would want as they’re already starting to flower. I hope they get a growth spurt LOL .

I have now been outside almost the whole day so I think it is time to go and get a cold beverage, I sure do hope that everyone is having a great gardening see you soon so far as well cheers and happy gardening! 👨‍🌾👩‍🌾🍻

Stay tuned for more my seedlings,

Were just getting started.

  Till next time,

Dear Seedlings,

Dear Seedlings,

Dear seedlings,

Well it hasn’t been the best start for summer weather. Since I’ve planted, we’ve probably had about 7 days of decent weather. Otherwise, it’s been cloudy, overcast, pouring rain… etc. Thank heavens though for the humidity. That has been one thing in my favour. LOL .

On a positive note, everything is coming in great. The potatoes are already a few inches in height, my peppers and tomatoes are taking off nicely. Peas, beans, cucumbers, carrots, onions, oh my lol .. I do credit adding Epson salts to the garden in the beginning of the year. I’ve done it three years in a row down and I always find success I highly recommend it.

New topic, gosh darn, stupid rabbits! 😡 The older ones are smart enough that they know to stay away a distance, but these little buggers are not scared at all. I come outside and there is 4 to 5 at all times circling the area. Grrrrr ! They have already got to my lettuce I think I’m going to have to do some research and find some plants that rabbits don’t like or I’m going to start selling rabbit pelt. LOL. Does anybody know how to get a hold of Elmer Fudd?  😂 🧨🐇🧨

On a final note, some things that I’m working on for the future; Baba’s merch, I’m going to look at creating a clothing line and more. As well, a few more interesting secrets that I don’t want to disclose yet LOL but it will be definitely worth you checking into. Until next time!😁

Stay tuned for more my seedlings,

Dear Seedlings,

Dear Seedlings,

Summer is finally here, or so they call it.

Of course the day that I did my planting it decided to rain for seven days after that LOL .

I’m not sure about everyone else but apparently when it comes to planting I always plant too deep LOL, and then I panic and I think they’re not coming up and then just before I do a replant Bam there they are ! 😂.

Many people have suggested I don’t plant so deep but apparently my brain doesn’t register. LOL

So it’s been about just shy of two weeks since I planted , having some great progress. The cucumbers are coming up the peas or poking through, the beans are breaking ground. Peppers and tomatoes are doing great , just having an issue with a little bit too much rain currently hoping we get some sunny days to counter that balance .

My reaper peppers and my scorpion peppers along with my ghost and jalapeño are all doing spectacular😁. I stand by putting Epson salts in the garden once or twice a year maybe it’s just me but I find it works .

As I wrap it up here today I hope everybody is doing well , remember it’s never too late to start gardening 🙂

Stay tuned for more my seedlings,

Deer Seedlings,

Deer Seedlings,

Well the day is finally here!!! 🙂 These past two weeks the weather has fluctuated a lot, but I’ve had enough, lol, and today is PLANT DAY! woooohoooooo !!! 😁

Cucumbers, peas, beans, carrots, tomatoes, green peppers, potatoes, hot peppers , ooooo my 😁. I feel that everybody needs an outdoor garden activity, especially this year it will definitely put a smile on your face. It is very rewarding and you sleep better too! LOL🤷‍♂️☺️

I tried something new this year I put Epsom salts all in my garden. I know it’s good for tomatoes and peppers, but I haven’t heard anything negative towards anything else so I figured it’s definitely worth a shot who knows.👨‍🌾👩‍🌾

And now it’s time to head to a garden store by the name of TNT Seeds. They are heavenly amazing. There’s such a great staff, amazing variety, I find they have a real wide variety.

Well, I have been out in the sun all day. I believe it’s 5 o’clock somewhere ;),  so I think I’m gonna call it a day.🧑‍🌾👩‍🌾

Happy gardening everyone!

Dear Seedlings,

Dear Seedlings,

Spring is here to a degree, finally. lol.

So, I started some indoor planting, as I mentioned last time. The tomatoes are coming up in full force 🙂 but still not much from the peppers yet. Still kind of early. I’ll give them another week before I begin plan B.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there! 🙂

My sister and I decided to treat my mother to a garden Mother’s Day gift. We picked her up two starter plants, two pots and some gloves, a large bag of dirt for transplanting, and a few garden necessities. Pictures to come later. 🙂

I’m not so fortunate as to have a large garden, but I do what I can for now. 🙂 My ultimate dream would be to live on the outskirts of the city and have a place of my own with an acre of garden! A person can dream. 🙂

Well that’s it for now. I hope everyone is doing well.

Stay tuned for more my seedlings.

We’re just getting started.

Till next time,

Dear Seedlings

Dear Seedlings

First off, I would like to say that I hope everyone is doing OK during this quarantine. It’s hard on everyone especially people who have lost loved ones during these times.

I’m about a month away from planting now and I’m getting more and more excited. 🙂 I’m thinking the last week of April I am going to do some indoor planting and get a jump on my peppers and tomatoes. I’m just finishing up and finalizing my plans now. 🙂

Is it just me? or are there other people who wish they had acres and acres of land that they could just wake up and garden every day for the rest of their lives?

Something that I find funny is that gardening is such a huge passion of mine, yet I’m not a big fan of eating vegetables. Weirdest thing. I just love gardening and watching things grow. lol. I wonder if there are alot of people like that, hmmm…

Once again all of this garden talk is getting me excited lol as it’s four in the morning and the household is sleeping, I think it’s best I sign off for now. 🙂

Stay tuned for more my seedlings, we’re just getting started.

Till next time,

Dear seedlings,

Dear seedlings,

Well I guess this is the start ,

When I was approached with this idea I thought to myself, ‘blog? … what the hell is that?’ lol. When it was explained to me that I can more or less talk for how long I wanted in regards to gardening, gardens, plants, flowers, whatever it may be – I thought to myself; now we’re talking 😎

A quick, up to date briefing; Baba‘s Garden is in honour of my grandmother, Baba, who passed away in 2018 she was one hell of a garden savant and we will dig deep into that further on.

Some of my best childhood memories I can remember being outside with Baba, tending to the garden, picking and eating peas, smelling the amazing aroma of the fresh dill, giving evil stares 😡to the vegetables I disliked, I’m talking to you broccoli, brussel sprouts!

I think it was then I knew the love and the passion that I had for gardening  and that being a green thumb was a part of me. lol

Living in Canada limits planting time for outdoors so we capitalize on it the earliest and the big day will be May 24 , some people might plant earlier some might plant a few days later that’s the special day for me though 🙂

All of this garden talk is getting me too excited, lol, so I think we should sign off for now . 😁

In closing,

I’d like to give shout out to Sarah from Sarahleanneh.ca
